Ordinance
2004-22, An Ordinance amending appendix c.3 (h) (II) of the codified ordinances
of the
Judy Bisard presented a letter to Council and read it to the
audience explaining her concerns and opposition to illuminated signs being
added to the Preservation District.
Helen Danku read a letter from the Historical
Society to Council expressing similar opposition to the illuminated signage
ordinance. Council also considered a written letter Zoning Inspector Jan Boehm
had submitted to Council prior to the meeting with suggestions to clarify the
current ordinance. After comments from
other guests both for and against and in response to the submitted letters Bob
Matson moved that the Public Hearing be closed and the Regular Council meeting
begin.

2004-22, an ordinance amending Appendix c.3 (h) (II) of the Codified Ordinances

Manlove clarified the issue of grandfathered businesses pertaining to this
ordinance by correctly calling the situation a non-conforming use with only
Silver Crik Saloon on

2004-34 An ordinance to rezone 6.62 acres of vacant land on the north side of

of Garrettsville to request the Portage County Auditors to remove an assessment
in the sum of $886.01 placed on parcel number 19-002-00-00-020-000 owned by
Denny and Sue Hamilton (8252 Water Street) for delinquent water/sewer charges.

Teri Eiermann reported that Barb Walker of the skateboard
committee has raised $2000.00 so far for equipment and more fund raisers were
to come.
Chuck Klamer reported that the sidewalk project would begin in
the next few days.
Solicitor
Manlove reported that he was unable to speak with Dave Campbell about the
definite use of the Thermo Link property as the new sight for the recycle
dumpsters.
Council
asked that as a result of the passage of Ordinance 2004-22 that the Zoning
inspector take pictures of the existing illuminated signs at the Silver Crik Saloon and keep them for record. Council also added that within 60 days each
business on
Rick
Patrick invited everyone to attend the last Cruise Night and Peach Social for
the year on Saturday August 14th at the Fire Station.
