SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING

 

                                                JUNE 20, 2005

 

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Craig Moser with Teri Eiermann, Dave Kirk, Chuck Klamer, Karen Clyde, Solicitor Mark Manlove, Clerk Nancy Baldwin, Jeff Kaiser was absent.

 

There was discussion on the bids that were received for the 2005 Chip and Seal Project. Council voted to approve the bid from Martuccio, it was not the lowest bid but Superintendent Keith Hartman felt it was the best bid. Hughs Company had the lowest bid and felt the Village had not been fair in the decision to hire Martuccio. Solicitor Mark Manlove reviewed the bid specifications and felt that they should be more specific and recommended that Council rescind the current bids and advertise the 2005 Chip and Seal Project again.

 

Moved by Eiermann, seconded by Klamer to rescind the bids that were approved at the June 8, 2005 meeting.

Moved by Kirk, seconded by Eiermann to approve Resolution 2005-32, A resolution authorizing the Clerk of the Village of Garrettsville to advertise for the bids with respect to the chipping and sealing of Liberty Street, French Street, Freedom Street, Crestwood Drive, Elm Street, Industrial Drive, Park Avenue and Garfield Drive based upon the Village specifications.
